Bridgewater, New Jersey Speed Traps
Allen Road near Small intersecting road
Allen Road is a small, but heavily used road that connects Route 202/206 with Foothill Road. It is only about 1/4 mile long. Allen Road is densely wooded on either side, and so motorists often do not see a small intersecting road about halfway in. A cop car often sits on that tiny road, and will nail you for anything higher than 30. At night time there is no way to see the cop until it’s too late.
Route 202
on 202, over the circle, where the speed limit is 45 mph, the cops sit right behind PETCO and shoot radar/laser. every one is doing 60-65, so they arent there long. be careful.
Old york Rd. / somerset St.
coming from 202 down old york rd. when you round the bend towards raritan by the Basilone Memorial, the police sit on the inside of the ben, behind the basilone statue, or at the bank. the speed limit drops from 35 to 25 and they are looking to give out tickets. beware.
Vanderveer rd
Road is only 25 MPH when all roads surrounding are 40 MPH, makes for an easy target
Route 22 E or W
Be very careful when traveling on Route 22 in Bridgewater. The police are very nice here, very professional. But they will pull you over for going 65 or higher. Traveling West Bound, after the Felix Diner which is located in the median, there will be a local officer parked behind the trees. After the Midas there will be two more traps. Two officers always parked together after the Lone Star in the center of the highway. Then after the exit for the Sommerville circle past the mall on the right, there will be another officer facing on coming traffic. If you are traveling East Bound there will be an officer waiting to meet you in the Methodist Church parking lot.
