Clifton, New Jersey Speed Traps

Cops are sitting at the corner after dark with NO LIGHTS on their cars. They stand in the street with a flashlight and stop people as they turn the corner.

Cop car, marked or unmarked, will sit on the right, tucked back from the road, in such a way that by the time you see him it’s too late. This looks like a spot purposely designed for them with their own exit from the Pkwy. It’s just short of the big bend in the road and before exit 155. BTW, it’s not unlikely to find a companion cop running radar on the SB side just about in this same area on the same days as the NB one. This trap started pretty regularly, about once or twice a week, last year, in 2007.

Police sit in the last driveway of the Roche Pharmaceuticals complex at the tip of the hill just before the Passaic Ave exit. Traveling eastbound on Rt 3, poilice will keep ALL LIGHTS off within and on the vehicle and wait for an unsuspecting motorist. I was nabbed twice at this spot, and see the there on occasion.
