Flemington, New Jersey Speed Traps

Vehicle speeds on Route 12 in Flemington are monitored from the beginning of Route 12 at the Route 202 traffic circle West to the 3rd (and last) traffic circle on Route 12 (at Mine Road) where police jurisdiction for the Borough of Raritan ends.

If you are going towards Flemington from say Bridgewater. Right after you pass through three bridges, you pass a Hess on the left, then go down a bridge. The cop will be on the left in the median right when the bridge ends. Hes always there. A good rule of thumbe for traveling this part of 202 is look out for the po around northlandz train place. Also, be careful at the intersection by Perkins a little futher down the road. There is always a cop sitting at the intersection, parked on the site, or in the bank parking lot on the leFort Raritan cops will search you too, so be careful.

This is a section of hybrid speed zones, from 35 mph to 55 mph, over a stretch of about 5 miles. Numerous hide-out spots for the police, raised slops by the roadside or intersections are the favorites. Local court has pretty "user friendly" plea bargain practice, whereby you get a chance to talk to the prosecutor before going in front of the judge. Takes 3 minutes to strike a deal with the prosecutor, but 3 hours in line, — a real pain.
