As you top the hill approaching SR 35 South, an unmarked police vehicle shooting radar will be parked where the speed limit drops from 40 mph to 25 mph. The radar beam detects your speed at the beginning of the 25 mph zone which is less than 1/4 mile in length before merging onto SR 35 South.

coming up the bridge from perth amboy heading south, there is a small 35mph sign on the bridge.at the exact peak of the bridge, where the sign says sayreville, you begin the ride down.i did a re enactment and from 35 at the peak taking my foot off the accelerator and went from 35 to 50 very easily.there are no posted speed limit signs anywhere from the bridge peak to the old victory circle. the day the cop got me it was dark, he was backed into amboy cinemas parking lot and with his lights off he claimed he got me doing 54 mph.

State Highway 18 near Garden State Parkway

Don’t cross the solid line into the lane for the exit for the Parkway north, the cops STAND outside and then point you over to the shoulder for your seat belt ticket. Oh, the kind and generous police won’t give you an improper passing, but it would be to nice to let you off without anything on your way to work.

Bridge Washington Rd. (CR 535) going into South River

Sayreville, New JerseyOct 01, 20020 Comments

Be extremely careful when leaving Sayreville heading into South River. Sayreville PD are fine, but the posted limit changes into 25 mph as you cross the bridge, and South River PD are always waiting in the parking lot by the car dealership (you have to pass it). South River PD are known for profiling and they’ve had well publicized revenue problems.
