Route 57 Between Phillipsburg and Washington
There are several speed changes between Phillipsburg and Washington on Route 57 in New Jersey. The speed changes from 60mph in one area to 45mph to 50mph and then to 40mph, 35mph, and then 25mph as you get closer to Washington. Police tend to stop drivers right in the 25mph zone at the Washington Avenue intersection.
Route 57 and Brass Castle Rd
Cop sits in florist parking lot or the former township building lot, watching for speeders coming down east or west 57, and also for Brass Castle southbound speeders. Also watches for westbound 57, those turning onto Brass Castle who don’t fully stop for turn on red.
State Route 24 near Pleasant Grove Road
thios is "old" Rt. 24, aka Schooley’s Moutain Road.
They sit in Schooley’s Mountain Firehouse parking lot, about 1/4 south of Pleasant Grove intersection.
Seems like 24/7 sometimes…
Washington Avenue near Exit Number GSP exit 168
On the east hill from exit 168, Township of Washington police like to sit on either side of the road to make sure people abide by the 35 mph speed limit. NOTE: They are extremely strict on this hill when school lets out, between 3-4 p.m. They also tend to sit there in the middle of the night, waiting for people to come down the steep hill after the bars.
State Route 46 West near Township Line
This is a long downhill route with a 45 mph speed limit. The Township Police like sitting just beyond the township limits on the leFort Will ticket for 5 miles over speed limit.
