Queens, New York Speed Traps

Going tward Atlantic Avenue, a marked NYC police car parks facing the oncoming traffic by N Conduit and 75th street with a radar gun. The speed limit is 40mph. Hard to keep, especially if you are running late!

Heavy congestion during the A.M. rush will temp you to drive on the right shoulder and and merge onto expressway, don’t do it. Black Crown Victoria is there daily and very busy citing violators. Section of expressway is North of J.F.K to about the Grand Central Parkway merge.

Cop stands between cars and uses radar gun every afternoon. He is very very nasty and threatens you with jail if you talk out of turn. Especially goes after expensive High end cars. I know it sounds weird but I have parked and watched him. I think he’s still mad at the kids that took his lunch money at school!!!

Although I have never been caught, I often see a flashing bright light go off when cars go through the light at Ascan Avenue traveling east on Queens Boulevard.
