W/B Northern Boulevard near Glenwood Street

Queens, New YorkSep 08, 20080 Comments

This cop sits in the middle of the intersection and is looking for seatbelts and cellphones and red lights. He will make a U-turn into traffic to chase someone down. He’s very aggressive. Make sure your belt is on and not on the phone, he gives no warnings. He got me 3 times this year.

E/B Horace Harding Expressway near 230th Street

Queens, New YorkSep 08, 20081 Comments

The cruiser usually sets up on the SW corner of 230th street at the Horace Harding Expressway with Radar. He nailed me doing 60 in a 30mph zone. It’s deceptive because you think your on the service road of the LIE which is 55 limit, but the service road is 30 limit.

Triboro Bridge Expressway near Triboro Bridge Eastbound Expressway

Queens, New YorkApr 28, 20080 Comments

Lately there has been a trap on the TriBoro Bridge, Eastbound before the first exit in Queens.
The radar car sits off to the shoulder just past the end of construction. The chase car in down aways before the exit.
Mostly observed on Saturday afternoon/evenings when traffic is light and people tend to speed on the bridge going East towards LaGuardia

Queens, New YorkApr 14, 20081 Comments

officer sits just around the bend coming off of the clearview expressway headed south bound towards hillside avenue. the posted speed limit there is 40mph, will ticket you for 1 mile over. so please slow down to 40mph as soon as the highway goes down to two lanes.

Grand Central Parkway Service Road near Between 172nd and 170th Streets

Queens, New YorkDec 04, 20070 Comments

There are cops sitting in marked and unmarked cars parked on 172nd Street and East Bound Grand Central Parkway Service Road with Radar/ Laser gun waiting for speeders. Sometimes they are on 170th Street. By the time you see him, its too late. After you pass 168th Street, just stay under 30mph. That little stretch will tempt you to do 60, especially when you get the light at 168ST. I normally see them in the PM Rush, they hide in a dark spot at the corner.
