State Route 695 near Bennet Rd Bypass

Syracuse, New YorkJan 16, 20080 Comments

One patrol car will sit on the Bennet Road bypass bridge and laser cars coming down the hill on 695 (heading towards Auburn, RT 5). There will be 5 or 6 state troopers on the onramp, ready to deploy. I see this quite often. This is the overpass right before the steep hill to route 5 on 695.

Interstate 690 East near Thompson Rd. Bridge Crossing

Syracuse, New YorkDec 06, 20071 Comments

They sit just past the Thompson Rd. bridge with usually 6-7 cars waiting on the on ramp. The cop with the laser sit’s in the grass between the on ramp and 690, just past the bridge so you can’t see him. The speed limit is only 55 which is ridiculous for a three lane highway! every body cruises between 65-70. Seems like they’re there all summer long, twice a week, and occasionally in the winter.

Interstate 81southbound near Interstate 481 north exit

I81 S just past the Brighton ave exit, just at the I481 entrance, northbound. The sit approx. 1 mile beofre speed limit changes to 65. Seems like they are always there at some point in the day

State Route 695 near State Route 5 EAST/WEST

Syracuse, New YorkSep 22, 20070 Comments

Traveling on Route 695, right before the roads diverge/converge to/from Fairmount and Auburn there is often a patrol car who just likes hang out near an opening in the barrier that allows him to nab evil-doers going in either direction. This barrier opening did not exist a few months ago, and I narrowly missed earning a five pointer for not knowing about it.

Burnet Avenue near Thompson Road

Syracuse, New YorkMay 22, 20070 Comments

Burnet Ave bridge between Thompson Road and West Manlius St. (the main road through the village of East Syracuse) This is between Thompson Road and the village of East Syracuse, the side enterence to Bristol Myers area.
There is often a East Syracuse police car parked across the street in the building supply lot to nab you if you’re coming over the bridge from the village Or if you turn onto Midler from Thompson road. This stretch of Midler is 30mph…very easy to go 45 plus. Always keep your eyes open day or night when crossing this bridge from either side!
