Tonawanda, New York Speed Traps

River road is a 55 until you hit the first intersection and it becomes a 40. The 40 sign is on a slight curve and you might miss it. The traffic light is usually green so everyone normally goes thru at 55 before seeing the sign and slowing down. The cop is usually located in the small parking lot just opposite the 40 speed limit sign where he can tag you just as you cross the intersection/speed limit sign.

Watch out for Colvin Ave, the part of it under Tonawanda jurisdiction. Cops like to sit back on random side streets off of Colvin, and nail you with radar. I’ve received two tickets here, one in the am and in the pm.
