Heading toward the HRP from Cross County/ Saw Mill River Pkwy- the center 2 lanes the speed limit is still 45, but people have a tendency to accelerate on the decine); Be mindfull, during some late evenings, When the lanes dip downward, there are 1 or 2 Patrol cars waiting for speeders (usually over 60 mph)- off to the side on the right – parked real close to that high wall. **Very hard to see them due to their proximity to the wall.
( Yonkers/ Mt. Vernon Border): At the throat of the NB & SB HRP enterances there is a grassy island with atleast 1 Regular Patrol car is facing cars heading from Yonkers (Cross County) on to either stretch.
Yonkers PD will sit on the side of the two way street just on the bend. The speed limit is 30 MPH.
As you drive south on Central, passing the Raceway on your left, the road becomes a straight-away with the speed limit 30. Then a downhill part of the road easily lifts your speed to 40 or better. The officer sits at the bottom of the hill, between Wendover Rd and Hall Pl, clocks cars as they are coming down the hill. Watch out they are there a lot in police and unmarked vehicles.
