This speed trap is in a curve at the bottom of a long downhill stretch of Bass Lake Road. The curve is adjacent to the dam and public recreation area at Bass Lake. The speed limit on this section of road was recently changed from 45 mph to 35 mph. L.E.O.s typically wait in a blind spot beyond the curve and clock motorists as they come into view.
State Highway 55 near avent ferry Road
The Hwy 55 by-pass around Holly Springs is patroled by marked and unmarked vehicles. Jeep cherokees, Dodge durangos and Ford crown vics are used. Police K-9 dogs are also used on traffic stops. The speed limit is 55 but the road makes 70 seem slow. Anything over 65 and your looking to get stopped.

anywhere between Avent Ferry Road and Old Smithfield Road. Speed Limit is 55mph, but it is easy to go well over that. They like to sitat the bottom of the hill near New Hill rd
Kildaire Farm Road from Cary to intersection of Holly Springs Road then continuing on into Holly Springs.
Officers drive white jeeps with green markings. After passing intersection of Kildaire Farm Road and Holly Springs Road, speed limit abruptly drops to 35 mph. Officers lay in wait for those not slowing down quickly enough. Other roads of this type in the county would have a speed limit of 45.
