Sheriff’s deputy spotted on I-540W, underneath the Old Milburnie Rd overpass at 3:00pm last Wed. (7/29). She was using Laser. Set up off the left shoulder against the bridge abutment and can be tough to see since you’re in a left turn.

all over Raleigh. It appears as if the RPD has an unmarked vehicle. Brown, with ‘City of Oaks Taxi’ lettered on the side. There is no ‘City of Oaks Taxi’ listed in any phone listing, and their is no phone number on the ‘cab’. The cab hits you with radar, and his buddy rings you up.

Deputy Sheriff seen at 5:30pm on 3/22/09 up on the on-ramp to 540W. Located so that you will NOT see him until you’re well in front of him. Speed limit is 65, didn’t pull me at 74, so be careful there especially at 75+.

US-64W Bus. at Falls of the Neuse River Bridge

Wolfpack of RPD (4-5 squad cars) have been seen during the middle of workdays here. Although this is a 4-lane divided highway and a long, steep, downhill grade, remember that the speed limit is 45mph (you’re probably OK up to 54). On the curve after the bridge is where they normally set up. So, you will NOT see them until you’re right in front of them.
