US Highway Business 40 near Silas Creek Parkway

City patrol cars back up behind guardrails just past Silas Creek Parkway going east on Bus.40. There’s a slight curve in the highway as you pass the on ramp which somewhat shields them from radar detectors.

Linville Road near Business 40

Winston Salem, North CarolinaNov 02, 20070 Comments

This trap is a 1.5 miles before the Linville Rd exit if you’re heading East, and 1.5 miles after the Linville Rd exit if you are heading West. After passing the Linville Road exit heading East, there is a long straightaway, that leads up a long hill. At the top of this hill, you’ll see a bridge (no highway entry or exit). Heading East, they are just on the other side of the hill, past the bridge. Heading West, they are on the down side of the hill, parked behind the bridge – you can not see them going either way until you are right on them. And, unfortunately, due to the hill blocking the waves, a radar detector is not always very usefull.
