Interstate 277 near Near South Main Street Exit
State Patrol typically sits catching Westbound travellers between the exit for South Main street and I-277. They use LASER and shoot at long distances.
State Route 224 near South Main Street
Ohio State Highway Patrol will sit in the do-not-cross area of the 224 Westbound Exit Ramp to South Main Street in the Akron/Coventry area. They will also sit behind the bridge on the other side of the road shooting LASER into traffic heading eastbound on 224 as well.
State Highway Route 8 near Exit Number Before Perkins St Exit
City of Akron police commonly sit on a no-crossing zone immediately following Perkins Street Exit heading Route 8 North. They always use close range laser and sometimes hide under Market St. Bridge for extra protection from drivers view. Speed limit is 50 MPH. Traffic commonly travels at 65-70
Interstate 77 near Exit Number 120
Just south of exit 120 on I-77/Arlington Rd exit. There is a spot that is right across from the Interstate Parkway Regal Cinema. Have seen cops sit in between the divided lanes facing both ways, during morning, afternoon and evening. Not too often after 1 am est. Also have observed many cars pulled over. When going South on 77 they like to zap you as you are coming down the hill just after the Massillon Rd exit. Have noticed that enforcement is higher toward the end of the month.
Interstate 77 near All through Akron city limits
This trap includes most of the city of Akron city limits. They sit in the back of an SUV with the back door up (so you can’t see then sirens) and use laser radar. They have chase vehicles pull over the cars – both city of Akron and staties. I have also seen them using radar up on the pedestrian walkways over the highway. Like to be there on Saturday and Sunday mornings!
