Akron, Ohio Speed Traps
State Route 8 near Perkins Street
On Route 8 North, cops sometimes sit on the Perkins entrance ramp. I think there is a radar on one of the bridges before.
77 North Expressway near Copley Road
Where the road narrows to two lanes going into West Akron/Fairlawn and everyone speeds up to get over. Bang! They nab you.
Waterloo Rd Between Main and Arlington
Watch out on Waterloo Rd at night especially Colonial Lanes parking lot and the plazas. They sit at the end of the parking lot and watch for speeders. They also eat in huge hordes at Pillitieres and will pull you over if you speed by when they are leaving.
Interstate 77 North/South between interchanges 76/224 and State Route 8
Northbound/Southbound on 77 between I-76/224 interchange as far north as Cuyuhoga Falls avenue Rte 8 North. Akron cops have one spotter and six or ten squad cars lined up on the ramp, ready to make money for the city. They also like to hide up on the entrance ramps, out of sight, clocking you from behind as you speed past. North/southbound exits – Wilbeth, Carrol/Buchtel, Exchange, Perkins, Tallmadge, Cuyahoga Falls Ave. – usually midmorning to rush and WEEKENDS!
