Dublin, Ohio Speed Traps
Interstate 270 near Sawmill Road
As your comming up on the Exit for Sawmill Road off of 270 East there’s usually a cop sitting in the median waiting, i’ve got one before there just waiting it’s sort of a blind turn so just keep to the inside wait until after the Sawmill exit to pass.
State Highway 33 near US Highway I270
Only inbound traffic headed into Dublin. Dublin City Cruiser well Hidden around a long slow curve. The highway has a relatively rapid decrease from 65MPH to 55MPH then to 35MPH. Luckily I was hit in the 55 MPH zone. But I can see being written up for 65MPH in a 35MPH zone ouch). I told him I missed the sign from 65 to 55. Theres two lanes with many ramps on and off in the same span as the speed limit changes. So the signs can be missed easily. Be careful it’s only about 1 mile of 55 MPH.
270 Bypass near 161 Road
relentless pursuit of ‘speeders’ is the name of the game. though this is a very busy section of town,
Anywhere near the I-270/Rte 33 interchange
Dublin police and state troopers heavily monitor this interchange, all directions, morning rush and evening rush. Dublin police watch on Rte 33 from Avery Rd to I-270. Dublin police and state troopers watch on I-270 from Tuttle Crossing to Sawmill, both directions. I’ve seen them sit in the same places everyday during some weeks. LASER is the predominant enforcement method. They sit along the inside concrete divider. And being on a long slow curve, it is difficult to see them before you are right on top of them. I believe they mostly target the left most 2 lanes. Stay in the right 2 lanes and you can probably avoid them.
Rt 257, Riverside Rd. Between Rt 161 and Hard Rd
Speed on four lane Rt 257 changes quickly from 55 to 50 to 40 and back. Dublin cops sit under the I 270 bridge, and in Scoto Park. Watch for Motorcycle officers! In nice weather. Under the bridge is their favorite hangout for laser practice during the morning rush!
