Taylor Station Road near Taylor Road
Police concentrate on quiet times (weekends, nights as late as midnight) on this two-lane 35 mph road through a mostly light industrial part of town. Vehicles are tracked from police cars concealed in the driveways/parking lots of businesses along the route.
Granville Street near Hamilton Road
The speed limit on Hwy 317 (Granville St.) drops from 35 to 25 mph as you enter "town" (this is on a wide four-lane highway with minimal pedestrian traffic. By comparison, the notorious New Rome (Ohio) speed trap was 35 mph on a comparable road). Police hide out in business parking lots to nab "speeders".
North Hamilton Road near 270 South Expressway
Gahanna police lay in wait for drivers pulling out of the Aiport Golf Course onto Hamilton, 45 mph zone where you get on the on ramp to 270, if you go 50mph you will be zapped by Gahanna’s faulty but profitable police-car radar. $80-$90 fine. They will even follow you down 270 S to pull you over. Then on N. Hamilton (35mph) all the way through Gahanna is one big speed trap. Going 38mph and up will get you fined. Police salaries and Bonuses must come from ticket revenue.
Morrison Road near Taylor Road
Well known Gahanna Ohio speedtrap. Police also use forward looking radar, laser, which can be faulty if the officer clocks you while HE is driving over the speed limit. Going 40 in a 35, where the forward looking radar will show you going 50, will net you an $80 – $100 fine.
Morrison Rd, 270 between Hamilton Rd. & Easton
They are every where just looking for any reason what so ever to pull you over. They are especially active at the end of the month.
