Pickerington, Ohio Speed Traps
The speed limit here changes from 35 to 25 if heading toward downtown Pickerington, and a cop likes to sit in the parking lot to the right side of the Church facing the road. I’ve noticed the car there in the morning at about 7 AM.
The Carpet Dealer here went out of business, so the black "Drug Predator" car likes to sit in the parking lot and enforce the 35 speed limit during the night. Drivers like to continue going >45 after the Diley/Hill intersection, and the black color of the car makes them not recognizable until it’s too late. The slight curve of the road does not help either.
The officer likes to sit up on the dirt "parking lot" where construction vehicles were parked during the expansion of Diley Road. He faces toward the Diley/Hill intersection and catches people going >45 as they round the turn in the road. He’s hidden behind a patch of trees, but he’s visible for about a mile if coming from the Long/Diley intersection.
Police park on Marie Ave. and aim at east bound cars coming from Diley Rd. Slow down!Sometimes is a cruiser and sometimes is a motorcycle.
Diley Road is hilly and if you’re going Northbound, it is 35mph…Southbound it’s 45. This has never made sense (but I know why it is this way…two different jurisdictions own this road). Northbound Diley Rd the Police will sit in the driveway to the big red barn on the right hand side. You don’t know they are there until you crest the hill and by then it’s too late. I was saved because a southbound driver flashed her lights at me. Sneaky.
