Tremont City, Ohio Speed Traps
St. Rt. 68; County Line Rd.; & Tremont City
German Twp uses KA Band radar on Rt. 68 north of Springfield sitting in the median, under an overpass, clocking both north and southbound traffic. They also sit near the Mad River on County Line Rd., and Upper Valley Pike in Tremont City and north to Champaign Co. They turn off their lights and hide. This is the township’s largest revenue maker and they are very aggressive. They provide little margin if you’re over the posted speed limit.
Tremont City, Ohio
I have lived in this village for 23 years now. It is a definate speed trap and has gotten much worse in the last 3 years. The village officers are all very young, like to hide in driveways and use tickets as an excuse to chase people at high speeds out of the village limits. The worse part for me as a resident is that they do nothing with the revenue to improve the village streets. It is a dump of a little village.
Small Town Street
Any time of day in Tremont City their usually is a German Township officer sitting in a church parking lot as you are heading north out of town. Watch your speed as it drops really quickly and the they’re sitting right where the speed limit drops.

The village officer is normally hidden from view and the speed limit is strictly enforced with only about 2 MPH leeway. The village has a Magistrate type of Court.
