Westlake, Ohio Speed Traps
Center Ridge Rd & Crocker Rd
The new Crocker/Stearns extension is a new speed trap. I always see Westlake police pulling people over!! It is 35 MPH, I think.
Hilliard Boulevard near Columbia Road
The police sit in private home driveways that have good bush/shrub coverage. Once they clock you on radar, they will wait until you turn onto Columbia and then begin their chase…. even if you are 3-4 miles over the speed limit. Once they pull you over they will also tag you for no turn signal, wide left turn, too slow of a turn, no seat belt (even though you are wearing one – they will say that you weren’t ’cause it looked like the belt was dangling from the ceiling of the car!) and on and on, adding three four things to the ticket. These are the stories I’ve heard from fellow employees that travel the road every morning. So it isn’t just one incident!
Interstate 90 near Crocker Road
Westlake Police have overused their speedtrap near the Crocker exit and although they do still sit there they’ve moved further east when traveling eastbound. The new speedtrap is not more than 1/4 mile or so east of the one near the Crocker exit and they sit right around the bend on the left berm so by the time you’re able to see them they’ve already clocked you
Crocker Park Road near Across from the First northbound Entrance to Crocker Park Shopping Mall.
Going north bound on crocker road towards I 90 a Westlake cop is often parked on the east side of the road in a turn around. There usually is higher grass covering the side of his car, but you can see the low profile lights once it is too late. Crocker is only 35mph but usual traffic is 50mph-ish. Its usually during Rush hours so be carefull!
Interstate 90 near Crocker Road
I-90 eastbound or westbound, just west of the Crocker Road exit at the Cuyahoga/Lorain county line, Westlake police regularly sit in the median, shooting laser both ways
