Garland Road near Willow Street

Enid, OklahomaMay 20, 20080 Comments

I’ve seen 2 different locations in this area that the police have sat. One is in the church parking lot at Willow and Garland Road…normally they sit next to a white church van. The other is the OG&E sub-station. When heading north, you can’t see them until it’s too late.

They sit in the Kmart parking lot and clock you. Sometimes they will sit across the street at the old Homeland parking lot also. I’ve been caught once and now I see them there all the time.

Garland Road near Between Garriott Rd and Randolph Street

Enid, OklahomaOct 19, 20070 Comments

The Enid Police like to back into the ONG drive and radar this strip. There are two entrances to housing additions along here. The speedlimit going south is 45 and changes to 35 at Randolph. It is easy to miss the sign, even though it is in plain sight. If you come through the intersection of Garriott (US 412) and Garland going north, or turn off of Garriott to go north, there is not a speed limit sign. There is a shorter distance to get speed up and get caught this direction. Most stops happen with traffic who are southbound.

Oklahoma Street near From Van Buren to Cogdal

They’re always in this area, especially the one particular cop who drives a Camaro(?). He parks along the street with other vehicles and it looks like just another car at someone’s house. I drive this street daily and have seen them there at least once each day.

No one in my family has ever been pulled over before until we moved to Enid a year ago. Since then, my son has been pulled over twice and me once for seatbelt violations, although we had our seatbelts on and it really is clearly visible. Cops are bored in this town, for sure.
