Roland, Oklahoma Speed Traps
Avoid this town! if you’re traveling Interstate 40 and need fuel or something to eat – keep going, it won’t cost as much. Speed limits have lowered on the residential streets (20 mph). All traffic citations start at $150.00 and up.
Just to update the situation here the police are now stricken from the interstates. The feds didn’t like what was going on out there. And Moffett police are now restricted to their tiny city limit and have a half a mile to patrol! If you lived here you would understand just how hilarious that is. They were making definite bank in that town. But Roland cops are still patrolling 64 hwy and Roland rd. with a vengeance, so be careful and use your cruise…
Between the Arkansas border town of Fort Smith (Garrison Avenue route)and the entrance to interstate highway 40, the Roland police are hypervigilant. Once you enter their jurisdiction, it is advisable to stay either at the speed limit or a mile or two under. It is apparently the main source of income for this little town, and they appear to really enjoy their work. If you’re coming in from I40, you can bypass the Roland/FortSmith exit and take the Dora or I540 exit to avoid the hassle and enter Fort Smith.
Roland Police hide in center median, only 5 miles of I-40 cross thru here but they take full advantage of it always locals patroling on interstate beware ….
2 units on constant patrol in the median of I-40.
