Oshawa, Ontario Speed Traps
Simcoe Street North
I have seen 2 common traps on Simcoe Street North. The first spot is located on the street just south of Dr. S.J. Phillips public school. The officer is usually out of his car with radar gun in-hand facing the traffic heading north on Simcoe St. The second popular spot is just south of Robert Street (across from Switzer Drive). They hide out in beside the camera store, and usually try to catch northbound drivers on Simcoe Street.

Simcoe Rd. At Camp Samac Near Durham College
The Police always hide in the driveway because it has large bushes on either side of it. Generally they are there in the morning when people are going to school at the college but I have seen them there at night sometimes too.
Tauntan Rd.
Going down Tauntan Rd. right at the airport, Durham Cops will sit at the road leading into the airport. Open strech of road, easy to speed, beware!
South of Beau Valley School on Ritson Rd.
South of Beau Valley School (posted 40Km/Hr for kids safety) Police are there ALOT. If you are doing 100km/hr, you deserve the ticket but they will ticket you at 50 or 60km’s. Better to just slow down, especially for the kids (including mine!)
Centre Street and Gibb Street
This speed trap is tricky due to the fact that they like to hide there patrol car about 30 feet off the road and they will get you for doing 10km over in a 50 km speed zone. They also where dark clothes and hide in the shadows. Once caught the officer will walk out in the road and tell you to pull over. While he is checking your plates and insurance the other officer in the car will take radar duties to back each other up. $40 fine for 10 km over the limit and more for faster speeds. Durham Regional Police seem to get alot of ppl there. BEWARE
