I got my first and only speeding ticket here when I was 16. I have sinced moved away from the area, but was in town yesterday and surprised to see this speed trap still alive almost 20 years later.
The police sit in the parking lot or side street adjacent to Penndel lanes using VASCAR to time traffic. The road changes from a 50 MPH zone to 35 MPH zone only a few dozen yards before the timing lines, offering a juicy target to officers.
State Route 1 near State Route 213
Northbound on Highway Rt.1, at the on-ramp for Rt.213. Middletown Twp Police sit on the ramp and clock you via VASCAR. The lines are painted on the roadway as well as the cement divider, and is reflective for nighttime enforcement.
I-95 and US 1 on US 1 bypass
Sitting in the center of the highway/also on both outer lanes. looking for Insp.problems also anything they might find wrong.also STATE POLICE sit there sometimes./but the trooper are always on US1 off ramp at that time of day also BEST OF THE MONTH IS EARLY/LATE IN THE MONTH
