its not a speed trap, but a roadblock, they sit on the northbound side of the tunnel so your trapped coming into the tunnel. they try to get people coming from downtown/ north chattanooga going toward signal mountain / redbank area. to get around this just get on hwy 27 north. (many people call cherokee blvd frazier rd, and on the north side of the tunnel its dayton blvd)

Veterans bridge southbound crossing TN river. Long wide bridge looks like an interstate highway but speed limit is 35. Easy to get up to 55. Chattanooga police sit at southbound end and get people as they come over the top of the hill of the arched bridge.

Speed limit is 35 mph. Police often locate themselves around West 31st street near the Soup’s On restaurant south of the bridge catching people going south during evening rush hour, or in the Ace Hardware shopping center on the north side of the bridge catching northbound traffic during morning rush hour. They also sit in a vacant lot next to Wendy’s in the morning on the south side shooting radar to the south BEFORE you reach the bridge.

CPD Officer park in the shade of the C.B. Robinson Bridge. Usually one car clocking, 2-3 chase cars. Radar car radio’s description of violator to chase cars that are normally a block or two away. Sometimes radar car is unmarked.

The trap is cleverly set up on the north side of the Tennessee Welcome Center on-ramp. There are usually 2 white unmarked cars that will park side by side in the grass. They are waiting for unsuspecting motorists to blow past the Tennessee/Georgia state line and Welcome Center. You won’t see them until it’s too late!
