Bucker Road

From within Burtonwood subdivision, an officer will either hide down a side street waiting for the "touch and go" stop at the stop sign on the way out of the subdivision, or wait at the bottom of the hill just after that stop sign with radar going. Speed limit is 20MPH. This is only first thing in the morning as people are leaving for work and taking Saturn Parkway to get to 65N.

US Highway 31 near Early’s Meats

They sit in the parking lot of Early’s Meat’s. They drive non-reflective cars that are impossible to see at night. Sitting with lights off, they will catch you going both North out of town and South coming into town. Speed limit is posted 45 and they will ticket for 46. The entire stretch running from Goose Creek bypass to the town of Spring hill (eight miles) is 45 and in the country, so it is tempting to drive much faster. Beware! They write several hundred tickets a month in this stretch of road.

Saturn Parkway

Coming onto Saturn Parkway from U.S. 31 there is a long, swinging onramp about a mile long. The most recent speed limit sign was farther than a mile before the beginning of the ramp and the speed limit on Saturn Parkway is 70, as you can see by the sign less than 3 tenths of a mile from the end of the acceleration ramp.
Police will wait on the shoulder of the road with their lights off and clock people coming off the ramp, citing a 55 speed limit. My court date is tomorrow. Wish me luck.
