Interstate 40

Amarillo, TexasJul 04, 20070 Comments

This speed trap pertains mostly to the eastbound traffic on I40, but I have seen them on the westbound traffic also. The specific location of the trap is behind the bushes across the street from Denny’s at the intersection of I40 and Ross. Motorcycle cops like to pick off the traffic as they are coming over the bridge, which features a slight hill. As you go over the hill they pick you off with a laser gun from about a quarter of a mile or maybe more. One officer operates the gun and three or four do the chasing. I have seen them out there from anywhere between 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
