Arlington, Texas Speed Traps
Arkansas bridge, south bound 360
2 officers will stand on the arkansas bridge facing the south bound lanes. No less than 5 motorcycles are waiting for you on the exit ramp from arkansas to 360 south. You cannot see any of the police bikes heading south bound. By the time you see the officers standing on the bridge looking at you. Its too late! I have seen the enforcement at least once a month for the past 2-3 months.
360 and mayfield or arkansas
Cops sit on the bridge clocking everybody, then a 1/2 mile down the road are the motrcycle cops waiting to recieve conformation from the cops on the bridge that you were speeding. Watch out , there was about 8 to 10 moto cops waiting!!!
Hwy 360 at the Green Oaks Blvd.
Several Police Officers will stand on the overpass (Green Oaks Blvd.) with radar while anywhere from 6-8 motorcycle cops will actually issue the citation. Watch your speed here because these officers are serious, Hwy 360 has heavy traffic daily and there is little to no tolerance!
Kelly Elliot Rd-Between I-20 and Pleasant Ridge Rd
This area is marked 30mph. Police catch you with radar when coming over the hill south bound on Kelly Elliot. It’s hard to keep your speed at 30 or below. This area is very active during noon when teens from Martin High are leaving for lunch.
feeder road east bound along I-20 between Kelley Elliot and Pleasent Ridge located at the old Fina Station
They have at least three version of this trap that I have witnessed. 1) Two motorcylce cops using radar will park in the Fina parking lot and check speed of motorists as the come around the final curve to the next intersection. 2) Multiple bike cops and potrol cars using the same method except one officer checks speeds, another on foot waves down cars, and a third writes the citation. 3) Most sneaky version was witnessed Thursday Feb 7, 2002. police used a stopped 18 wheeler with hazards on to block view of Fina’s parking. At the front ot the stopped truck was the officer checking speeds. Behind the truck were 4 patrol cars and at least 8 officers ready to issue citations. method of stopping violators is the same as #2 above.
