Interstate 635 / LBJ Freeway near Midway Road

Dallas, TexasDec 15, 20040 Comments

DART HOV lanes both east and west bound between US75/Central and Luna Rd are thick with DART Police. They not only watch the ride-share lanes for violations, but the radar as well. DART can radar anything, including all lanes of 635/LBJ, not just the ride-share HOV lanes. I learned the hard way. They are usually on motorcycles, so watch out. Lots of rolling hills along that route, easy to hide on the other side.

US Highway 175 near Interstate 20/635

Dallas, TexasDec 13, 20040 Comments

Heading westbound on 175, there is a slight rise in the road after you pass the interchange with 20/635. You’ll find the cops hanging out on the left shoulder at the top of the hill, right where the freeway expands to 6 lanes past the merge from 635. This spot seems to be especially active on Sunday afternoons. I’ve also seen him further up around the Lake June exit. Speed limit is 60, your goose is cooked if you’re going more than 70 (this is true on pretty much all Dallas freeways).

Marsh Lane near Valley View Road

Dallas, TexasSep 15, 20041 Comments

On Marsh Lane, north of 635 and right north of Valley View, there is a speed trap on the right side of the road. After passing the Farmers Branch Police Department, there is a stretch with 35 mph limit. The cop hides behind a designated bush and constanly pulls people over.
