59 feeder Bypass near FM 1960

Humble, TexasFeb 16, 20080 Comments

As you are heading South on the feeder of 59, just south of Townsend Blvd, there is a Circuit City just before Dearbrook Mall. Often there is a police car sitting in the parking lot of the Circuit City with easy access to pull after catching you on radar. At night, they sit with their lights off by a sign and you don’t see them until your right in front of them!

Townsend Boulevard near FM 1960

On Townsend Blvd. between FM 1960 and Loop 494/59 overpass, the speed limit is posted at 35MPH and people always do 50-60 MPH. There are usually 3-6 Harris County cops out there either Constibles or Sheriffs that are waiting in line just around the curve to catch those that are “flying”” down the road. One person will be stopped and then the next one in line is waiting for the next speeder to pass and grab.”

Cop car was hidden on the Townsen curve as it turns toward the West. It was in a constrcution zone but the construction is now complete as of this date. It was also my first ticket ever! The City of Humble Police Department & the Municipal Judge Have No Mercy!

FM 1960 near State Highway 59

Humble, TexasMar 26, 20070 Comments

When exiting onto 1960 from Hwy 59 towards Atascocita for six miles the speed limit is 35 mph. As this is a six lane rode this Speed Limit is completley uneccessary. Humble PD is always out in full force in front of Domino’s waiting to catch you. Five miles after turning onto 1960 the speed limit then goes to 50 which is very reasonable.

Interstate 59 near FM 1960

Humble, TexasOct 13, 20061 Comments

The I-59/FM 1960 intersection and 7 miles north all the way pass Kingwood to FM1314 is heavily patroled by the Houston PD, Humble PD, Humble ISD PD, Texas State Troopers, Montgomery County Precinct 4 PD, and the local Sheriff’s Dept. You are pretty safe on 59 but those feeders on either side of the highway are full of LEOs. And they are packing LIDAR/laser detection now. The area is not really a speed trap but is generally a gauntlet to be manuvered through. Heavy construction zone as well so watch out that your fines might be doubled if workers are present. I and my wife have been ticketed 3 times in the past four years on those feeders. Watch yourself.
