Junction, Texas Speed Traps

Kimball County Sheriffs Department constantly patrols the highway between Junction and Roosevelt exits. Vehicles have subdued markings and appear to be regular unmarked vehicles.

The speed limit is 80 in that part of Texas. The State Troopers did not seem to be bothering anyone going 90. A small town cop had a radar trap on I-10 within the tiny borders of his town on a clear day with little traffic.

The law officers usually hide in a parking lot of one of the roadside business’ on 87. They utilize a reduced speed limit followed by a large bend to the right to surprise victims.

We ate at the Dairy Queen in Junction. We were the only obivous out of towner(being Asian). The Sheriff and two duputies came in to eat. We got caught right after getting on the highway by an unmarked car. He said we were going at 86 while the cruise control was set at 77. The ticket also states speed limit of 65, which I could not find anywhere on our way back.
