There is always and I mean always a Lake Jackson police officer parked in the driveway of the Lake Jackson fire station usually facing east looking for speeders. The speed limit here is only 35 mph although oyster creek dr in this area is divided and with limited access.

Texas 288/332

Road was built up to freeway standards from Texas 332 West/Oyster Creek to Main Street in Clute, yet the speed limit has only been bumped up from 50 to 55. The Lake Jackson PD are already making stops, as most people are used to being able to drive at least 60 on a freeway… The TXDOT office in this county seems to set artificially low speed limits (not only here but on 332 between LJ and Brazoria, 36 between Brazoria and West Columbia, 521 between Brazoria and Matagorda County, and 35 between West Columbia and Angleton) in order to let the Highway Patrol stop people who are traveling at what "would" be a safe speed for the road.

This Way

Lake Jackson’s motorcycle cops like to hang out in the median of This Way between CR 2004 and Lake Rd. Trees and the curvy road hide them until it is too late. I have also seen a regular cruiser there, but you can see them if you pay attention.

Yaupon Drive and Oyster Creek Drive

There is a school zone on both Oyster Creek and Yaupon, the officer sits in the driveway on the N. W. corner and is very hard to see. He is there almost everyday when my wife picks the kids up from school. Normally has someone pulled over.

State Highway 288/332 near Flag Drive to Yaupon Street

Three different school zones in less than two miles. I agree the 35 mile an hour is a good speed for schoolchildren and crossing gaurd safety but I think they should combine the whole school zone into one. I do 35 all the way through even between the zones.
