New Braunfels, Texas Speed Traps
Seguin Ave (Hwy 725) between Swan Dr and County Line Road
In this short stretch of road the speed limit is posted 35, 45 and 55 mph. If you are in the 35 zone and begin accelerating to 45 when you see the 45 sign, you are subject to a traffic ticket. When in the 55 zone, slow to 45 immediately when you see the 45 sign. Don’t think you are safe by being down to 45 when you get to the sign. There simply is not a clear delineation of where you are expected to be going the speed designated by the sign and the police take advantage of this.
Morningside Drive between Solms and I-35
The speed limit through here was recently lowered to 30 and it feels like it should be 40 — which it was until very recently. Police sit on side roads during random times and pull everyone over. You never know when one will be hiding.
Exiting I-35 In New Braunfels, TX
When exiting I-35 in the New Braunfels area, besure to slow to 45 mph
the NB Police monitor the speed limit on service road quite frequently.
Walnut St. between Landa St. and San Antonio St.
About halfway between Landa St. and San Antonio St. you can expect to find one of NB’s finest parked on either side of Walnut setting the trap. On one side they park off on the street going into the new development area or straight across where they sit in a parking lot — sometimes behind a large sign!!! Watch out!!!
Common Street
Common Street from Union Street all the way to FM 306. The cops are known as "NB’s Finest". They keep the revenue up during the slow season when Schlitterbahn is closed. And, when Schlitterbahn is open, watch out all you tourists as you cross the Common Street Bridge over the Guadalupe. If you are heading to Schlitterbahn, the cops are either sitting off Peace Avenue on the left or at the Fairgrounds on the right. If you are leaving and heading back to Loop 337, they’re waiting for you sitting back on Fair Lane just across the bridge on the right. Good luck and slow down in NB!
