as you turn left onto fm 1101/freiheit rd from 46 east, the speed limit is 35 then up to 55. but if it is school zones then back down to 35 and as you cross freiheit elem the speed goes back up to 55 then school zoned again for canyon middle back down to 35. it is the most confusing street.

New Braunfels now uses plain cars (no markings) to do traffic stops. These cops will drive on the highway and tailgate you and “road rage”” you into flaring up and then they stop you and ticket you. And I have seen the large number of officers on the sides of the highway with one using laser radar while the “”Puppies chase the stick.”” I thought it was illegal to make stops in cars that aren’t marked. I’m sure New Braunfels doesn’t care about law.”

10 cops working a laser trap. On a hidden off road where they are lined up to chase you. One cop works the laser and flags another to get you. They say they are in a 55 but 65 at night is the only speed sigh you will see unless you coming the other way in the work zone is on the other side of the highway. They will set the trap pull over 10 cars. Then 5 minuts later they are all gone.

The level varies daily so I put ‘high’ since it is very often true. I can run into 4 or 5 Comal County Sherrif cars with radar within minutes of each other driving on 46 between Loop 337 or 1863 all the way to the 281. Also I see Comal County Constables and State Troopers writing tickets- sometimes all 3 are out there at same time!

Anyone that travels through this area on a regular basis will attest that it is very unwise to speed in the area between San Marcos and New Braunfels on IH35, in either direction. The state troopers are waiting for you, and are hiding behind a sign so often that the grassy area has eroded. DPS is waiting for you, so slow down!
