Gravel Pit – between Mouth of Big and Wasatch

Cottonwood Heights, UtahMar 16, 20100 Comments

This is the honey hole for Cottonwood Heights police. People leaving the Mouth of Big Cottonwood headed for I-215 get Nailed every night as they go past the gravel pit. One or two cops are always there. Money in the bank.

The Sheriffs like to sit at the bottom of Big Cottonwood Canyon and wait for unsuspecting motorists to come down or up the canyon a little too fast. They usually back into the construction area near the bottom. I have never seen them pull anyone over, but they are always there so watch out!

Speed limit drops from 40 to 25 as you head south on 3000 East. Cop sits at the top of the hill just before you get to Ft Union, usually in the ranger station, fire station, or side streets. He is in an unmarked car and is usually quite aggressive.
