The entire city of Lehi

All of their streets are posted at 25 mph, even streets that should be 30-45 are artificially set slow at 25 mph. They are well known for being a speed trap and a big revenue generator, especially in these tough economic times.

Off W State Street, right turn on to N500W (197)

Lehi, UtahApr 17, 20100 Comments

Your are turning off State street at 55 mph right on to 197 that takes you to the round-about and access to Highway 73 West toward Sarratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. The speed on the road is 20mph and they get you coming off the 55mph road. Definitely a speed trap. Like to hang out at night when they can’t be detected. Nearly impossible with leading and following traffic to slow to this unbelievably slow speed.

500 West and Pioneer Crossing

They hang out south of the new Pioneer Crossing. Usually on the east side of the road. Speed limit is artificially low at 25 mph.

They will get you going north or south through the river bottoms. It is a big hill both ways and keeping to the posted speed is nearly impossible without burning up brakes. The officer said he realized it was hard to keep to the limit but it was near the end of the month . . .

2100 N Road near Point Meadow Park/Library

Lehi, UtahMay 28, 20080 Comments

This is a wide highway-like road that passes a local sod farm and several large empty pastures in an obscure fringe area of Lehi. It has broad painted lanes and inconveniently located speed limit signs which makes it not difficult to overlook the posted speed(25). Traffic police frequently park off road across the street south of the library. They are far enough off the road that it is often difficult to spot them behind the tall weeds and an old fence. Several officers also live in the neighborhoods to the west of this spot who frequently transit this road and have been known to pull speeders over on their way to and from home during normal duty hours. I have also witnessed several stop sign stings with plain clothed officers staked out at the top of the rail crossing a block west of this speed trap. Traveler beware.
