Sandy, Utah Speed Traps
Interstate 15 near Interstate 215
When turning on I-15 South from the I-215 West Junction, there is a Highway Patrol Car that waits for people getting on the highway and follows them without radar/laser, until he is right on you from behind, then radar/lasers you and then pulls you over. The Speed limit is 65, however the flow of traffic is between 80 to 90 miles per hour during morning and afternoon rush hour. I was cited for going 85 in a 65 speed limit. However, my radar/laser detector did not go off until he speeded up at 100 miles an hour and almost crashed into the back of my car while radaring me and then pulling me over. However, by the time he radared me I took off my cruise control from 70 miles an hour and I was going 65, so he was not telling the truth about radaring me. Also, from the likes of it, he targets luxury cars like BMW, Mercedes, Porshche.
Sandy City Hall is where you have to go to court, which is infamous for having the worst Police Department that is unfair and tends to make you pay high fines for tickets and traffic school. They are sneaky to the point that they will put an arrest record for a misdemeanor on your record by just giving you a citation. So, you have to double check and make sure they have not put an arrest record on your record.
Personally I think there needs to be an overhaul of speed limits which are unrealistic for today’s cars. We might as well be driving Model T Fords in order to go with the current speed limits in Utah!

Dimple Dell Road between 10600 S. and 11000 S. Speed limit is 35, but reduces to 25 and it goes down hill toward 11000 S. Patrols sit at the top of the hill shooting north as you enter the down hill into the 25 limit or shoot south as you come up the hill. There is a hedge on the east side that looks like it has been trimmed to conceal the car and they can hide very well.
