2200 West Street near 9800 South to 10400 South

South Jordan, UtahApr 21, 20080 Comments

This is a street next to a high school. It is a well defined collector street that was previously posted at 35 MPH. The speed limit has been dropped to 25 MPH to accomodate the high school and foot traffic to an elementary even though sidewalks are available. It is heavily enfored especially around the start and end of the high school day. It amounts to an illegal school zone under Utah law.

9800 South Street

South Jordan, UtahJan 23, 20081 Comments

The street is a main east/west street and in areas where there are no houses fronting the road and sometimes no houses at all, the speed is 30. The problem also, the speed changes back and forth between 30, 35 and 25 every few miles. You don’t expect the speed changes so close to each other and the logic of the changes are…..illogical! I guess extra revenue is needed in South Jordan.

West 5th Street near 10200 South Street

This is a five lane road in an industrial area. The area at 10200 South is a straight section that begs you to go faster than the posted 35 mph.

Shields Road near I-15 To Bangerter

Lots and lots of speed traps all along 98th South. I am sure that it has nothing to do with the expensive houses that are built along that road. Nice to see what money can buy.
