Directly in front of the airport is a 4-lane divided highway that is not particularly busy. However, its speed limit is 35 mph. Roanoke city polices this stretch until a shopping center, because people naturally drive faster on a 4 lane divided highway than the 35 mph speed limit warrants.
US Rt 221 Between Cave Spring & Foot of Bent Mountian
Speed is 45mph despite being 55 up and down Bent Mountian. This is especially enforced around the Cotton Hill/Poages Mill area.
