Bellevue, Washington Speed Traps
westbound 520 just before toll plaza
State patrolman parks on left side in SUV
NE 8th Street between 164th & Northup
Actually, anywhere on NE 8th Street where the speed limit drops. Particularly between 164th & Northup, where the speed limit drops to 25 at the same place where a steep hill starts to descend. Officers station themselves on the corners of cross-streets and wait. Recently, has gotten better as people have complained. I still go out of my way to avoid that section of 8th.
Main between 140th and 148th (by Sammamish high school)
There’s often a squad car that hides in the first townhome complex on the left when going East from 140th to 148th.
Speed limit is 25, going downhill, and he usually plays the “there are kids here!!” because of the highschool. He will ticket you for 30 even if he’s in a sour mood (or its quota time?!)
0n main between 148 and 156
2 motorcycle police pulled over 5 cars with radar going up hill. 25 mph but confusing because still commercial area next to Walmart
Southbound on 148th crossing over I-90
I was pulled over here and directed into the parking lot of the Chevron Station at 3725 150th Ave SE in Bellevue. The officer said that I was clocked at 41 mph coming down the hill on 148th. However, I did not come down the hill at all. I entered 148th (turns into 150th) from the I-90 on ramp and could not possibly have achieved that speed, as the light at SE 37th St. was red. I can’t tell where they are taking the radar reading from? Anybody know?
