Kenosha, Wisconsin Speed Traps
State Highway 32 near Carthage College
Sheridan Rd (HWY 32) Heading Southbound right past Carthage College. When heading southbound the speed limt drops from 45 mph to 35 mph right around Lake Michigan and then further down he road it drops to 30 mph all within the same mile stretch.
HWY 50 Between I94 and US45
Kenosha County: Heading west on HWY 50 between I94 and US45, it is very hilly with multiple partially hidden medians and easy hiding places on both sides. I travel this stretch 6 days a week, and there is at least one WI HWY Patrol car along the route (usually already has someone pulled over) every day that I go thru. Be careful topping hills in this area over the speed limit. Tolerance is low.
100th Ave between 18th (Hwy L) and 12th (Hwy E)
If you are traveling down 100th (the boonies, I know, but I live out there) and you pass 18th St (Hwy L) heading North there is a group of trees about 1/4 mile from the road. It is the perfect place for a cop to sit and he’s always there at 12:00. The speed limit is 40mph, but the road feels like a 55/60 road.
County Hwy K , (60th Street)
Eastbound toward Green Bay Rd. from County H the speed limit abruptly drops to 35 while still in a rural area. After dark, as you climb the hill after the railroad tracks the city cop sits in the driveway to the Indian Trails Academy on your leFort Lights off, obscured by a chain link fence. Doesn’t want registration or insurance, just license so he can write the ticket, make his quota and make money for the city.
Tollway/ I-94 Northbound
There is a weight station to the right when traveling northbound into Wisconsin from Illinois on the i-94. There are sometimes patrol cars stoped and in line like they are parked, taking the focus off of the one hiding on the merge lane. He will fly right on to get you after the bridge.
