Cheyenne, Wyoming Speed Traps

A cop will park at the abandoned gas station at the corner of Dunn and Pershing where westbound Pershing comes down a steep hill before you get to the cemetery. If you’re speeding when you crest the hill, it’s probably too late to slow down. I’ve seen many people get pulled over here, most of them heading westbound, but a few also heading eastbound.

The cop will park on Mulberry Ave. (this is the last street before the intersection at Ridge Rd.) next to the Goodwill store. If you’re speeding on Nationway Eastbound, slow down when you pass the plaza before the crest of the hill.

Immediately after exiting I-80 you are in a construction zone. As you enter I-25 you have difficulty finding posted speed signs which is 45 mph. Traffic moves faster than the posted speed but out of state cars are stopped for speeding. A real welcome for out of state tourists. Fines are double since this is a construction zone.

Watch out, when cuising up I-25 from Colorado you get used to 75 or 80 and when you enter the town of Cheyenne the speed limit drops to 65 (one sign warning of the change) and then the State Patrol will be waiting for you with instant on radar. Beware!
