56th st between Loop 338 and Faudree Road   Odessa, Texas

This is a 2 lane county road running on the south side of the Pondarosa Estates. The speed limit is 35 mph. I have always watched for it, but one morning I got caught running 45---zap $167. The officer told me it is a residential area. All of the houses face away from the road and are at least 100 feet from the road. The DPS patrols it before daylight and after dark. The county commissioner who set the speed limit will not return calls to discuss it.

Dixie and 8TH ST.   Odessa, Texas

It goes from 40 to 30 real quick, the officer was parked right behind the pawn shop and got me. Be sure to slow down around there.

US Highway 191 near Preston Road   Odessa, Texas

From time to time Odessa police will setup at the Town and Country at this intersection. One officer will clock the motorists coming over the overpass while a line of officers standby to ticket speeding motorists. The speed limit on highway 191 drops down to 55 and motorists coming over the overpass are typically slowing down but can't see the police waiting for them in the distance.

US Highway Business 20 or HWY 80 near Start of Construction   Odessa, Texas

There is at least a mile of construction on HWY 80 and the speed limit drops from 65 to 55 then all of a sudden to 45. I got a ticket going home from work one morning, not realizing the speed limit had dropped to 45. They said on the news that the police were writing up to 80 tickets a day! And since it's in a construction zone the fines double. So be careful and slow down!

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
