Carpentersville, Illinois Speed Traps
Highway 31 and North Lincoln Ave
Heading northbound on Highway 31 is a fairly steep downgrade with a 35 MPH limit which increases to 45 and then 50 MPH all within a 1500 foot distance. Carpentersville Police (CVP) will sit at the base of the hill lazeing/Radar gunning the North bound HWY 31 traffic. CVP will allow you to pass through the 35 MPH zone, pull out and follow you into the 50 MPH zone, bounce the lazer/Radar off you in the 50 MPH zone and cite you for doing 50 in a 35 MPH zone, listing the point of infraction as Hwy 31 and N. Lincoln, which is in the 35 MPH zone. This just happened to us 4/2014.
Carpenter Park along Maple Ave.
Driving on Maple Ave., you pass Carpenter Park, where the speed limit drops to 20 mph. Police often sit in various places to scan that stretch from different vantage points.
L.W. Besinger Dr. behind Cinema 12 Theater
As you turn off of Rt. 25 onto L.W. Besinger Dr., heading toward the Village Hall, the street curves behind the movie theater where cops often sit and clock in a 25 mph zone.
Miller Road just West of Randall Road
Travel East or West down this portion of the Miller Road and go a few miles over…bam they got ya. They sit in the Woodmans parking lot or the Menards Lot or a few side streets down the road. Limit is 25 so be careful…they are waiting for you.
State Highway route 25 near State Route route 62
As one approaches route 62 (Algonquin road) heading north on route 25 a cop sits in the middle on an island and clocks you coming north as you approach route 62. He is hard to see due to hill.
