Huntsville, Alabama Speed Traps
US Highway 72 near Flint River W. or Madison County School
Just West of Madison County School (between Huntsville and Gurley) between the bridges of the Flint River, State Troopers like to sit in the meridian and clock people. I see them there about 1-2 time a week.
Explorer Boulevard near Jan Davis Road
6 to 8 Hunstville Police Dept vehicles sitting one of many undeveloped road intersections. 2 to 4 officers standing in median of the four lane Explorer Blvd shooting Laser at each car.
Jan Davis Road near Explorer Road
7 to 8 officers. One waiting at the bottom of the hill with a speed gun. The rest waiting a little further down the hill.
N. Memorial Parkway Overpass
When traveling north on the Parkway, you will pass by an unmarked Crown Vic in the old Bruno’s parking lot. He’s watching the traffic go from the 50mph zone into the 45 just as you pass him. A lot of people are coming off of I-565, and dont think to slow down from the 70-75mph they’re used to travelling.
South Parkway/Golf Road overpass
Typical placement of the police car is on the access road monitoring vehicles coming south on the Parkway. Cars are checked as they crest the overpass. Sometimes there are additional cars to pursue the speeders, sometimes only one vehicle.
