Camarillo, California Speed Traps
CHP units hide behind the wind break trees for the farm fields on the south side of fifth street just before (east bound) and after (west bound) the Los Posas Rd intersection. Limit is 50MPH. Used to be 55MPH. Most base traffic travels quicker than that. Nasty stretch for passing lane violations as well given cars contend with farm equipment traffic in the sale areas where there are lots of lane control changs leading up to the area in question.
CHP and local Sherrif’s vehicles park on the right side of the road as you exit the 5th street curve onto Pleasant Valley near the train intersection. The speed limit leading up to the curve is 50MPH and drops to 40MPH once around the curve.
CHP and local Sherrif’s units. Traveling Southbound on Lewis, the road flares out from on to three lanes just after you pass Germain street. To the right there is an house which blocks your view of the unit until you are already on top of it. The speed limit on this stretch is 50MPH, but many travel at 60+
Both Vehicle and Motorcycle used. Units park in the parking lot of St. Mary Magalene’s church nearest the parish building. Cars travel westbound toward the light do not see the units until they pass coming up to the light at Las Posas / Crestview. Speed limit is 45MPH.
Motorcycle cop is parked by the new "Longs" drug store. And car or motorcycle is parked by the firestation at woodcreek. These two are active in the AM and PM, to and from work! But, can be there any time.
