Chico, California Speed Traps
skyeway
this chp turns off all the car lights and sits to left side of the rood and turns off the radar until he see anyone then he says he
Palmetto Ave.
I have recently noticed the roadside speed monitor on Palmetto Ave. This usually means a speed trap will soon follow. I have seen several on Palmetto in the past and I believe they are going to start trapping again. Cars speed up and down Palmetto, and probably should be slowed…. just beware if you are one of the speeders!
Cohasset Rd. from the Chico Airport to Cohasset.
Cohasset rd. going from the Chico Airport to the town of Cohasset is being focused on by one individual CHP officer going up and down the hill. No exact spot but due to the twisty road, he can get you coming and going. I was ticketed going down the hill as he was coming up near the airport and my wife was ticketed near rock creek. Watch out on the morning commute and from 3-5 P.M. This officer has been exploiting this section of road for the last year.
Hwy 32 at Upper Humboldt Road
Sporadic, usually in the evenings the Highway Patrol monitors Highway 32. As you are heading North out of Chico (past Yosemite Rd), they hide around upper Humboldt Road and use radar to catch people. I’ve been caught twice!!!
Skyway Road
Skyway coming down from Paradise towards Chico and returning to Paradise from Chico. Very heavily enforced. If you have a flashy car they will single you out. Patroled by CHP.
