Eastbound Magnolia Ave. between Compton Ave. and Sherborn Rd.

Corona, CaliforniaOct 23, 20030 Comments

Heading eastbound on Magnolia from I15 leads you down a big hill that ends at Compton Ave. As you pass Compton Ave., there are a few small businesses on the left and a large plot of undeveloped land to the right. Posted limit is 45mph. The last business on the left before Sherborn Rd has a large tree in the parking lot that a motorcycle cop hides behind with a radar gun. It’s just before the Sherborn signal. The hill gives you a good downhill run with no stops or signals until Sherborn, so it’s very tempting to go very fast. I know a signal was just recently erected at Compton Ave but I’m sure the cop will stay.

All along Green River RD

Green River road is an extremely high enforcement area. I consistently have observed M/C units with unwary commuters pulled over. Remeber that city budget reserves are non-existant and the revenue generated by traffic enforcement is significant.

Corydon and River Road

Corona, CaliforniaMay 10, 20030 Comments

Every morning when I go to school at around 8:30 AM I always see a cop on a motorcycle where Corydon and River Road crosses. He loves to hide near the Corona welcoming sign behind the center island and aims his laser gun at the cars that are coming down over the hill on River Road towards Corydon. While passing him by my radar detector caught a Ka band in use… he probably forgot to turn it off while he was using the laser… Corona police usually have their radars off when not in use. Every morning it seems like I see the same (chubby) guy in a brown uniform… every morning it seems like I see a car pulled over… same spot all the time. Take care!

Ontario Ave. East of Main St.

Motorcycle officers clock Eastbound drivers on Ontario Ave. From Main St. The officer hides behind buildings in driveway bibs near the intersection. Often a second patrol is available to ticket while the motor officer continues to monitor speeds.
