Dublin, California Speed Traps
Hwy 580 – Hacienda Exit
On Hwy 580 heading west. Upon entering the exit lane for Hacienda you will see a CHP parked on the side. You cannot see him as you approach because he is parked on the side by the metering light (on ramp) He is usually there during the morning commute. The freeway traffic opens up here and drivers usually speed up.
Intersection at San Ramon Blvd and Dublin Blvd
Heading north from Hwy 580 at this first intersection there are two right lane turn lanes. A sign designates a right hand turn only from far right lane only on red light. Those cars making a right hand turn against a red light and not in the very far right (curb lane) will get a ticket from a Dublin motorcycle police officer who is sitting and hiding behid a road sign on Dublin Blv just before the turn into the Starbucks Coffe parking lot. Be warned, do not turn right on red when in the second right hand turn lane, (second lane from curb).
Dublin Blvd. Between Clark and Sierra
The Dublin Blvd. parking lot entry to the old Nat’l Food Labs building, across the creek from the Police Dept, is almost always occupied by a radar gun during the heavy drive hours. They also frequently sit in their own Police Dept. entry/exit on Dublin Blvd.
Advice: Stick to posted limit on Dublin Blvd. between Village Pkwy. and Dougherty.
San Ramon Road
When travelling southbound on San Ramon Road between Alcosta Rd and Vomac Rd as you crest a small rise in the road. There at the Vomac Rd intersection, a motorcycle patrolman is targeting cars as they come over the rise. Patrolman is obscured by the rise and has you targeted before you realize his presence.
