State Highway South Coast Highway near Aliso Creek and Beach
Northbound traffic is targeted by motorcycle officers who hide behind the wall and shrubs just north of the creek bed. The speed limit is 40mph, but with the long downhill run from South Laguna to the bottom of the hill, it is very easy to go 45-50 mph without realizing it. Be VERY careful!
State Highway PCH near Emerald Bay
Speed trap is just after city limits entrance from the north. Speed limit reduction from 60 down to 45 mph. Motorcycle cop with radar on coast side of PCH in a shady driveway targeting southbound traffic.
Park Avenue near Hillview Drive
In vicinity of Thurston Middle School. Artificially low 35-MPH speed limit going downhill, and on quite a wide avenue.
With increasing crime rate in Laguna, this car-cop has nothing better to do than sit on the spacious avenue with his radar, to coerce you into driving really slow.
BEWARE–he’s in a car, and I thought he was on patrol doing something OTHER than traffic enforcement! But he’s issuing gratuitous speeding tickets instead.
